Should i get kindle with special offers

What happens if you buy a Kindle with Special Offers and want to remove the ads? Do you like the Special Offers program? Have you ever purchased one and liked it? Totally against advertising on an e-reader?

Amazon seems bullish about increasing the number of ads, so the program is working. In fact, although it's practically heresy to say something positive about advertising, I like the Special Offers. Dirt-cheap deals on e-books? Discounts on music? Coupons for clothes and other useful stuff? I fail to see the downside.

I contacted the support via the Amazon site and said I want to remove the Ads from my Kindle Paperwhite.

I have run into the kind of problem I hate. When I go to Amazon and select action beside my Kindle, there is no option to edit special offers.

Every help page says to go there to turn this off but of course mine does not show this option. The action tab has nothing to do with it. The option to unsubscribe is under the device on the device section. What happens if the reader is not connected to WiFi?

Does the damn thing have a rotating repetoire of ads it shows until it can update?
