What I'm wondering is, can I get the R3 nut with the compound " neck radius? The R3 will fit the width but the radius is off as it is 12". The R4 has a 10" radius but the string spacing is wider. Is there any way to address this without getting wider string spacing? Oh and one more thing.
I talked about this with a friend who is a guitar tech and he said I should have warmoth level the frets so they start at a 12" radius at the nut? Is this possible to get done?
I would get the R3 for that situation. The Schaller made ones are also 10" radius for R3, I believe Warmoth sells them. On fret leveling, Warmoth does not do that they install them, but any leveling or finessing is left to the end user to do or get help with. Max goes to Woodstock Gallery. This may help. R3 has narrower spacing that it really only noticeable at top of the neck.
Think of it like this I have always used r4 on 1. You are correct all parts says the Schaller R3 has a 10" radius. Schaller's website. If you want to verify further.
